Chris was born in 1969 and was educated in Germany, the UK and  the US. Chris holds an MBA from Wake  Forest University, NC.
Before starting brox, Chris spent 10 years in various positions with ERP vendor Baan. His responsibilities  included solution sales to customers like GM, Delphi, Visteon, Ford, Porsche, Mitsubishi and Daimler in Europe,  North America and Asia.
In 1998 Chris founded brox with the goal to enable enterprises to achieve the same level of excellence in  information logistics that ERP systems were giving them in physical logistics. Brox products Anyfinder and  Enterprise Information Framework were successful in organizations like Audi, CreditSuisse, Dresdner Bank,  Volkswagen and others, prior to the launch of the Eclipse SMILA initiative under his direction. As a member of the Eclipse Board of  Directors, Chris is closely following the progress of open source in the runtime space and working with various  organization to foster acceptance, standardization and adoption of open source business models by enterprise  customers. Chris is also in charge of the eccenca Technology Partners Program and in this role is setting up a global network of excellence with partners delivering text analytics, natural language processing, indexing, semantics, storage and other exciting technologies.

CTO
Michael was born in 1961 and was educated in Germany. He holds and BA and MA in mathematics and a doctorate degree in natural sciences. His dissertation was on error tolerant retrieval in large amounts of text data.
Before starting at brox seven years ago, Michael has held positions as branch and general manager of publicly traded information logistics expert caatoosee AG and caatoosee Search Technology. Michael understands  the broad range of use cases and technical requirements for information logistics technology and processes. During the last few years his focus has been on questions related to semantic metadata quality, which he considers to be a key challenge in empowering the semantic enterprise. Besides his role as brox CTO Michael is a very active Co-Project-Lead of the eccenca initiative with a focus on our ability to execute and deliver the platform that will empower semantic enterprises of the future.
