eccenca called a Cool Vendor by Gartner

Leipzig, Germany, December 04, 2018 – The German provider of semantic enterprise knowledge graphs, eccenca, has been named Cool Vendor. The analyst firm Gartner Inc. included eccenca as one of only five vendors in its September 2018 published report “Cool Vendors in Intelligent Supply Chain Execution Technologies”.

We believe the results of the Cool Vendor report once again illustrate the growing need to integrate big data and artificial intelligence into supply chain applications. According to the report, in one area, Gartner’s annual Supply Chain Technology User Wants and Needs Study found that 71% of companies feel supply chain technology is a key source of competitive advantage.

“The emerging supply chain technology vendors highlighted in this research uniquely recognize this trend and are responding by exploiting AI capabilities within their solutions”, the analysts wrote. “Supply chain organizations are under severe competitive pressure. The business climate is moving at a higher velocity than ever before and is more volatile, and this high-speed turbulence is not a friend of most supply chain management (SCM) organizations”.

eccenca provides the foundation to meet this challenge effectively. With its Knowledge Graph solution, heterogeneous data streams can be integrated and automated along the entire value chain. Recently, RFS used the eccenca Corporate Memory solution to meet growing demands of a digitalized value chain. The company is a leading provider of innovative communications infrastructure solutions with plants on five continents. RFS has been using the Knowledge Graph solution since 2018 to uniformly describe its diverse products and production processes. This is the first time the company has established a global traceability of its products. In addition, virtual warehouse integration, higher resource efficiency and improved customer service were achieved.

For Chief Supply Chain Officers, the greatest challenge is the global visibility of data and processes along the entire supply chain. With the Enterprise and Value Network Knowledge Graph, eccenca offers the solution for a simple and flexible integration of heterogeneous data over the entire value chain. The Knowledge Graph thus forms the ideal basis for implementing transparency, robotic process automation or the use of KI. The eccenca supply chain solution has recently been used by RFS to respond to the growing demand for a digitalized supply chain. The company is a leading provider of innovative communications infrastructure solutions with plants on five continents. First, RFS harmonized its diverse product and process descriptions by integrating them into the Knowledge Graph. The resulting transparency has enabled the company to improve its resource efficiency and customer service to a large extent. With the newly gained data transparency, the process automation of the use of AI tools can now be sensibly implemented.

It is a special pleasure to be recognized as a Cool Vendor by Gartner,” says Hans-Christian Brockmann, CEO of eccenca. “The future of the supply chain lies in the agile and secure exchange of data along the value chain. The key to this is complete transparency and integration of the respective data. These must not just be thrown into large central data holes, as is currently happening in many places. Companies can not only improve their customer service with an Enterprise Knowledge Graph. Above all, risks of loss in the supply chain are minimized and the possibilities of artificial intelligence are meaningfully exploited. Because the use of AI only works if the knowledge base is complete and consistent. eccenca and its solutions thus form the foundation for the Smart Supply Chain as a decisive competitive advantage”.
